Monster Rank

Global Notes

  • Home Ranges vs. Spillovers: Each monster type has a dominant range below. Information about these monsters is regulated by the @GGA. Limited spillovers happen along rift lines, trade routes, or seasonal migrations; these don’t rewrite geography and are treated as temporary corridors rather than permanent biome shifts. The phenomena of why certain regions have certain monster types is still unknown.

  • Threat Ladders: Field teams should expect E–D ranks as common threats, C–B as regional anchors, and A–S as rare or routed by alerts. Use your established hero rank mappings when assigning teams.

  • Apex Entities: The named S-Rank entities define Danger Zones within otherwise traversable regions. These areas remain passable with planning and escort.

Northern Africa — Insect Swarm

Profile & Behavior: Insect bio-swarms dominate here, cycling through “surge windows” and lull periods. Low ranks (Beetle Swarm, Venomous Wasps) are the day-to-day hazard; mid-tiers (Mantis Blades, Chitinous Crawlers) cluster near resource pockets; high-tiers (Phase Locusts, Hive Mind Nexus Ant) show coordination spikes, sometimes masking flanking behaviors by burrowers.

Insect Swarm Encounter Ranks:
E: @Beetle Swarm [common] + @Queen Mandible [danger]
D: @Venomous Wasp [common] + @Hornet King [danger]
C: @Mantis Blades [common] + @Emperor Mantis [danger]
B: @Chitinous Crawler [common] + @The Underdriller [danger]

S: @Hive Mind Nexus Ant [common] + @Baros, the Perfect Evolution [Regional Threat]

Greenland, Iceland, Canada, Alaska — Giants

Profile & Behavior: The high north favors large-frame striders and boulder throwers ranging across open expanses and wind corridors. Frost Giants are the norm; Storm Giants ride seasonal fronts. Gravity Well variants are rare but redefine approach vectors when present.

S: @Gravity Well Giant [common] + @Jol, the Cosmic Giant [Regional Threat]

South America — Orcs

Profile & Behavior: Orc war-bands form from Grunts and War Raiders, stabilizing under Ironclad cadres. Fire traditions (Flame Orc Brandishers, Ember Orc Shamans) appear along supply clearings, while stealth cadres (Shadow Prowlers, Nightfang Assassin cells) shape ambush doctrine.

Archipelago between Asia & Australia — Goblins

Profile & Behavior: Archipelagic chains breed agile, swarmy goblin tactics: skiffs, ridge glides, and contraption raids from many angles. Explosives and venoms are common at mid/high tiers.
