Use the following stat guide to set base values. Everything else (attacks, abilities, etc.) is flavor and handled separately.

Minion: AC 12-13, HP 8-12, CR 1/8
Boss: AC 14, HP 45-60, CR 2
D-RANK
Minion: AC 13-14, HP 12-18, CR 1/4
Boss: AC 15, HP 70-90, CR 4
C-RANK
Minion: AC 14-15, HP 18-26, CR 1/2
Boss: AC 16, HP 100-130, CR 6
B-RANK
Minion: AC 15-16, HP 26-35, CR 1
Boss: AC 17, HP 140-180, CR 8
A-RANK
Minion: AC 16-17, HP 35-48, CR 2
Boss: AC 18, HP 200-260, CR 10
S-RANK
Minion: AC 17-19, HP 48-65, CR 3
Boss: AC 19-20, HP 300-400, CR 12-15
Inputs: Party Rank (highest PC rank), Party Size (1–4).
Assign Encounter Points (EP) per PC by Rank:
E = 2 EP, D = 4 EP, C = 8 EP, B = 12 EP, A = 18 EP, S = 30 EP.
Party Budget (PB) = EP × Party Size.
Minion (same rank as party) = 1 EP.
Boss (same rank as party) = 6 EP.
If monster is +1 rank above party, double EP cost.
If monster is −1 rank below party, halve EP cost.
Keep total monster EP ≤ Party Budget. Mix and match:
Skirmish: 1 boss + 2–4 minions.
Commander: 1 boss + 2 elites (treat as 3 EP each) + 4 minions.
Swarm: 10–16 minions only (reduce their HP by 25%).
Duel: 1 boss alone (good for set piece fights).
4×C-rank party (PB = 32):
1 C-boss (6 EP) + 2 C-elites (6 EP) + 8 C-minions (8 EP) = 20 EP → balanced.
3×B-rank party (PB = 36):
1 A-boss (up-rank, 12 EP) + 2 B-elites (6 EP) + 12 B-minions (12 EP) = 30 EP → balanced.
