Freeside

Location Profile: @Freeside

The 2280 Vibe: The desperate, vibrant, dangerous slums built against the concrete walls of the Strip. It is a chaotic maze of ruined buildings, neon signs, and desperate refugees. It smells of unwashed bodies, cooked rat, and ozone from the energy weapons of the Van Graffs.

Unique Roleplay Opportunities:

  • The King's Court: Players can interact with @The Kings (the Elvis-impersonating street gang that runs the area). Getting on their good side opens up a network of neighborhood watchers, free haircuts, and safe passage.

  • The Hustle: Freeside is a scammer's paradise. Players can hire bodyguards, get mugged in alleys, buy forged passports, or act as debt collectors for the various seedy businesses (like @The Atomic Wrangler or @The Silver Rush).

Key Mechanics & DM Directives:

  • The Bodyguard Economy: The AI should actively spawn thugs equipped with pool cues and pipe rifles to stalk the players if their reputation is low. Paying Wastelander mercenaries or King gang members for "protection" stops these random encounters.

  • The Wealth Divide: The AI must strictly enforce the visual and mechanical contrast between the starving beggars in the street and the heavily armored, plasma-wielding guards protecting the Silver Rush casino.
