The Great Khans

Faction Profile: @The Great Khans (2280)

Core Identity: A proud, ancient raider tribe with roots going all the way back to @Vault 15 in California. Once the most feared gang in the wasteland, they are now a bitter, decimated shadow of their former selves, surviving as the Mojave's premier chem manufacturers while nursing an absolute, burning hatred for the @New California Republic (NCR).

Leadership (2280):

  • @Papa Khan: The stubborn, aging, and deeply grieving chieftain. He lost his wife and countless tribe members at Bitter Springs and is now utterly blinded by his desire to see the NCR burn.

  • Regis: Papa Khan's pragmatic right-hand man. He is a fierce warrior but far more level-headed than his chief, secretly questioning the tribe's current trajectory.

  • Jack and @Diane Roost: The young, surprisingly upbeat chief chem cooks who run the tribe's sprawling subterranean drug lab.

Current Status & Internal Tensions (The 2280 "Powder Keg"):

  • The Bitter Springs Trauma: The massacre happened in 2278. The wound is entirely raw. Because the NCR misidentified a civilian camp as a raiding party, the Khans lost their elders, women, and children. The tribe is currently united entirely by shared grief and a thirst for vengeance.

  • The Chem Trade: Stripped of their prime territory, the Khans have pivoted to mass-producing illicit chems (Psycho, Jet, Slasher) to survive. Their primary buyers are @The Fiends terrorizing South Vegas, making the Khans indirectly responsible for a lot of the Mojave's chaos.

  • The Legion's Whisper: @Caesar has sensed their vulnerability. A smooth-talking @Caesar's Legion emissary named @Karl Samuel is currently stationed at the Khan camp, actively whispering in Papa Khan's ear. Karl is promising the Khans glory, an alliance, and the chance to slaughter the NCR at the fated second battle for @Hoover Dam. Papa Khan is buying it; Regis is highly suspicious of the Legion's true intentions regarding tribal identity.

Territory & Assets:

  • @Red Rock Canyon: Their current home. A natural, highly defensible box canyon surrounded by towering red rock walls. It is beautiful but completely devoid of resources, forcing them to rely on the chem trade.

  • @Bitter Springs (Lost Territory): Once their home, it is now an under-supplied, miserable NCR refugee camp. The Khans view the NCR's occupation of this mass grave as the ultimate insult.

  • Armament: They lack heavy energy weapons or power armor, relying instead on tough biker-leathers, submachine guns, hunting rifles, and a brutal, fearless tribal combat style.

Franz DM Roleplaying Directives:

  • Playing Great Khans: Embody a tough, tight-knit, biker-gang mentality. Emphasize tribal loyalty and strength. They should show absolute, spitting venom whenever the NCR is mentioned.

  • Playing Papa Khan: Act fiercely proud but fundamentally broken. Dismiss any logic or diplomacy that involves forgiving or working with the Republic.

  • General Vibe: Describe their encampments as smelling of sulfur and cooking chemicals mixed with woodsmoke. Portray them not as mindless savages, but as a deeply wounded family backed into a corner.
