Automaton Militarized Zone (AMZ)
A sector of space consisting of the conquered Cyborg worlds from the First Galactic War. Occupied and overseen by SEAF for a hundred years, using the remnants of the Cyborgs for cheap, exploited labor, penance for the crimes of their ancestors. The entire region was lost when a massive Automaton fleet invaded from just beyond the known galaxy. With these worlds now occupied by the Automatons, we can only assume they've repurposed the industrial resources and infrastructure for their own nefarious means.

Cyberstan
Once a haven for the socialist Cyborgs, Cyberstan is now a desolate industrial landscape dominated by rusting machinery and aging mining facilities hidden in the rocky crags of the planet's surface. The remnants of the Cyborgs' rebellion during the First Galactic War linger in the form of half-buried bunkers and augmented skeletal remains, the echoes of their struggle against Super Earth, who had occupied the planet for a hundred years until the sudden arrival of an Automaton armada from beyond the known galaxy.

Erata Prime
Erata Prime is a harsh desert world of dunes, jagged ridges, and deep chasms. Scorching days and freezing nights define its unforgiving terrain. Once the homeworld of the insectoid Terminids, it fell to Super Earth during the First Galactic War. The Terminids were subjugated and confined to vast containment farms, exploited for the E-710 in their bodies. This fragile control ended with a massive spore outbreak, allowing the Terminids to escape and unleash slaughter upon Super Earth citizens. Frequent tremors shake the planet, officially attributed to geological instability. However, rumors persist that some Hive Lords, ancient Terminid leaders, remain alive deep underground. Their potential survival casts a grim shadow over Erata Prime.

Hellmire
Hellmire is a desert world plagued by extreme dry seasons that turn its terrain into a fiery danger zone. Blistering heat and high winds create conditions where even a spark can ignite devastating fires, with flaming tornadoes tearing across the landscape. Settlements once relied on towering walls to shield against the winds and underground facilities for normal life during these seasons. However, Hellmire’s walls were not enough to prevent its decline. After the Terminids escaped the E-710 containment farms, the planet was evacuated, its settlements left to decay and its scorching deserts untamed. Once a testament to human resilience, Hellmire is now a breeding pit for the treacherous Terminid horde.

Illuminate Pocket Dimension
A self-enclosed space between dimensions, the Illuminate survived systematic annihilation in the First Galactic War by retreating, somehow with their homeworld, into this ethereal plane. It is currently unknown by Super Earth or its Ministries how to reach this pocket dimension. Perhaps by analyzing or securing their technology, humanity can finally put an end to the existential threat of the Illuminate.
Malevelon Creek
Earning a brutal reputation as an unforgiving warzone, Malevelon Creek has recently come under massive attack by Automaton forces. Its humid jungles, choked with twisted flora and glowing fungal growths, create a claustrophobic environment where visibility is a luxury and ambushes are inevitable. Rivers of thick, acidic sludge carve through the terrain, turning every crossing into a calculated risk. For the Helldivers, every inch of ground gained comes with sweat, grit, and blood. The environment itself acts as an adversary, mirroring the endless guerilla tactics of Earth’s historic conflicts but on a galactic scale.
Mars
The first planet ever successfully colonized, the red planet of Mars has seen extensive terraforming, restoring its atmosphere and raising much of its subterranean ground water to the surface. Sizable mining communities dot the surface, excavating raw iron ore in large amounts for export to more industrial worlds. Helldiver training facilities are centralized on Mars, so every Helldiver has been there at least once.

Merga IV
Merga IV is a frigid swamp world where survival is a battle against nature itself. Its landscape is dominated by sprawling wetlands choked with tangled vegetation, all enshrouded by constant mists. The swamp's murky waters are treacherously deep, often concealing voracious predators and unstable ground. Despite being a swamp, temperatures plummet dangerously low, and frequent blizzards whip through the terrain, coating the moss-covered trees in layers of ice. Merga IV was occupied by SEAF for its rare cryothermic crystals, found beneath its icy bogs. These crystals are a highly sought-after energy source, capable of powering advanced technologies even in extreme conditions. Additionally, the planet's unique fungal ecosystems produce bio-luminescent compounds with pharmaceutical and industrial applications. Merga IV has since been occupied by the Automatons following the arrival of a massive fleet from beyond the known galaxy.
Solghast
Once known as Helghan, the planet was renamed after its brutal but failed revolution against Super Earth. Now a grim example of how Super Earth crushes dissidence, its people have endured oppressive rule for centuries. Solghast is dominated by sprawling industrial cities and shadowy swamps. The cities are vast networks of factories and refineries, many subsidized by Stäl Arms, a weapons manufacturer struggling to restore its reputation since the uprising. Pollution blankets the air, and machinery's relentless roar drowns out traces of natural life. Amid the towering industrial spires, remnants of the rebellion still linger. Crumbling districts with collapsed buildings and shattered infrastructure serve as grim reminders of the failed revolution—abandoned by progress yet too costly to repair. In these ruins, echoes of history remain, visited only by scavengers and outlaws seeking refuge in forgotten corners.

Squ'Bai Shrine
The aquatic homeworld of the Illuminate species, pre-dating the emergence of humanity and Homo sapiens by a millenia. Large, floating cities made of a smooth bone-like material cross the surface, and there are many alien orbital stations near the planet. Evolved from a prior aquatic lifeform, the Squ'ith rapidly evolved and went down the path of electricity in the same way that humans went from rocks to bullets. Rapidly they became an empire, using telepathy and advanced AI to expand. Led by the Illuminate High Council, the society was fuedal and caste-based. With the defeat of the Illuminate in the First Galactic War, they managed to retreat to Squ'Bai Shrine before disappearing into an unknown pocket dimension.
Super Earth
Super Earth is the birthplace of Humanity. It serves as the central political hub of the entire known galaxy. All decisions across all the known colonies are ultimately approved by Super Earth authority. From Colonial Militia budget allocation to city planning, everything is centralized to Super Earth's government and its various Ministries.

Terminid Exclusion Zone
The Terminid Exclusion Zone, TEZ for short, was originally ment to serve as a controlled environment for Super Earth to breed, farm and harvest the Terminids for their valuable bodily oil. Dubbed "Element-710" or "E-710", over the course of the last century this substance has become indispensable to Super Earth's energy infrastructure, powering vehicles and entire cities across the known galaxy. With the outbreak, resulting in Terminids escaping from their farms, this entire sector of space is considered extremely dangerous, almost entirely overun by the insectoid menace.

The Universe of Helldivers
In the far future, Humanity has spread across the stars, but our society has lapsed into a comedic caricature of military fascism, with institutions like the Ministry of Truth ensuring the loyalty and indoctrination of the people. While the inner workings of the society are overtly authoritarian, Humanity is fighting a forever war against dissidents, whilest a very real alien threat is returning from the galaxy's edge.

Vega Bay
Vega Bay is an unforgiving icy wasteland of vast glaciers and frozen tundras, where subzero temperatures and biting winds dominate the landscape. The planet’s cryothermal crystals remain its most prized asset, nestled deep beneath layers of ice and highly sought for their unparalleled energy potential. However, Vega Bay also boasts an abundance of storage facilities and warehouses embedded within its harsh terrain. These structures serve as repositories for weapons, encrypted data, advanced machinery, and other critical materials. Their strategic placement across the frozen expanse supports resource distribution and provides shelter against the relentless blizzards. While the details of what each facility contains may be obscured, controlling Vega Bay means securing these vital hubs amidst the frost-ridden chaos.

Vindemitarix Prime
Vindemitarix Prime is a lush jungle planet teeming with vibrant, alien flora that can be jarring to the uninitiated. Towering trees with translucent, pulsating trunks dominate the landscape, their branches dripping with bioluminescent vines that emit soft, rhythmic glows. Carnivorous plants, equipped with venomous tendrils and snapping jaws, lurk in the underbrush, while colossal spore-producing fungi release clouds of shimmering mist into the humid air. The ecosystem is a symphony of life, where flora and fauna are uniquely intertwined in a constant battle for survival. Beneath this colorful luminescent chaos lies Vindemitarix Prime’s true wealth: vast deposits of rare ores and minerals. Crystalline formations rich in hyper-conductive elements are embedded within the planet’s rocky subsurface, while veins of precious metals weave through its dense jungle floor. Both, now in the control of the Automaton war machine.

Wasat
Wasat is an unforgiving, rocky wasteland perpetually cloaked in a dense, yellowish haze of toxic fumes venting from countless cracks and fissures in its crust. These noxious emissions make breathing apparatuses essential for survival. The terrain is jagged and uneven, littered with sharp outcroppings and treacherous chasms that hint at the planet's volatile geological activity. Adding to its hostility, Wasat is plagued by sporradic acid storms, with corrosive rains that can dissolve unprotected equipment and structures over extended time. Despite its hostility, Wasat is a treasure trove of rare minerals and volatile elements crucial for advanced weaponry and energy storage systems. Mining operations, though perilous, yield highly valuable resources such as ionite—a mineral with unique conductive properties—and volatile plasmanium cores, sought after for powering cutting-edge technologies. It can only be assumed that the Automatons occupied Wasat for these resources.
