Konohagakure is the primary shinobi village of the Land of Fire and the first major hidden village created under the modern shinobi system.
Its establishment fundamentally changed the political structure of the world.
Before Konoha, powerful shinobi clans operated largely as independent military families hired by competing clients. The alliance between Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha ended the long rivalry between the Senju and Uchiha and created the foundation for a permanent multi-clan settlement.
Other clans gradually joined them.
This model inspired the creation of other hidden villages throughout the world.
FOUNDING
Hashirama Senju dreamed of creating a place where children would not have to die endlessly in clan wars.
Madara Uchiha initially shared part of this vision.
The village name Konohagakure was proposed by Madara.
Hashirama eventually became the First Hokage.
The political relationship between the village and the Land of Fire created the basic model later copied by other Great Nations.
However, tension between Hashirama and Madara eventually returned.
Their conflict culminated in the battle at the Valley of the End.
Madara was believed dead.
Konoha survived and continued expanding.

However, political leaders can interpret "protecting the village" differently.
Hiruzen, Tsunade, Danzō, Itachi, and other figures demonstrate that devotion to Konoha can produce very different decisions.
