It is located among extremely high mountains where clouds obscure large portions of the settlement.

Bridges and mountain roads connect sections of the settlement.
Falls from elevated terrain can be dangerous.

FIRST RAIKAGE
The First Raikage founded Kumogakure after the Warring States Period.
Kumo participated in the early balance-of-power system involving Tailed Beasts.
The village developed into one of the strongest military states.
GOLD AND SILVER BROTHERS
Kinkaku and Ginkaku became infamous figures in Kumo history.
They survived encounters involving the Nine-Tails and gained extraordinary chakra characteristics.
Their faction later disrupted peace negotiations involving Kumo and Konoha.
Their actions contributed to instability during the First Shinobi World War.

THIRD RAIKAGE

HYŪGA AFFAIR
A Kumo representative attempted to kidnap Hinata Hyūga.
Hiashi killed the attacker.
Kumo then demanded Hiashi's body as compensation.
Hizashi Hyūga ultimately died in his brother's place.
