The Uchiha were one of the strongest and most politically important clans in shinobi history.
Their story is inseparable from the founding of Konoha, the Sharingan, Madara Uchiha, the Military Police, the Nine-Tails attack, internal Konoha politics, Itachi, and Sasuke.
ANCIENT ORIGIN
The Uchiha descend from Indra Ōtsutsuki, eldest son of Hagoromo.
Indra inherited extraordinary talent and ocular power.
His philosophical conflict with Asura continued symbolically through their descendants.
The Uchiha themselves did not preserve a complete conscious understanding of this ancient origin.
WARRING STATES PERIOD
The Uchiha were one of the most powerful military clans.
They frequently fought the Senju.
Their members developed exceptional battlefield instincts and strong Fire Release traditions.
Sharingan users made the clan especially feared.
Madara Uchiha and his younger brother Izuna became legendary leaders.
Madara eventually obtained Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan through his brother's eyes.
ALLIANCE WITH SENJU
Years of warfare weakened both families.
Hashirama repeatedly sought peace.
Eventually the Uchiha and Senju agreed to an alliance.
This alliance created Konohagakure.
Madara proposed the village's name.
The dream of cooperation was genuine but fragile.
MADARA'S BREAK WITH KONOHA
Madara became increasingly suspicious of Senju political influence.
Hashirama became First Hokage rather than Madara.
Madara eventually concluded that the Uchiha would lose political power.
Most clan members refused to abandon the new village.
Madara left alone.
He later fought Hashirama at the Valley of the End.
The world believed Madara died.
SHARINGAN
The Sharingan is the Uchiha's inherited dōjutsu.
It can provide abilities such as:
Exceptional visual perception.
Tracking rapid movement.
Reading physical actions.
Observing chakra.
Genjutsu.
Copying many observable techniques.
Predicting movements from visual information.
Not every Uchiha automatically awakens the Sharingan.
Emotional stress is strongly associated with awakening and evolution.
Different individuals progress differently.
MANGEKYŌ SHARINGAN
The Mangekyō Sharingan is a rare advanced form.
It manifests unique abilities that vary by user.
Repeated usage can severely damage eyesight.
Knowledge of Mangekyō mechanics is not common public information.
The Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan is even more obscure.
Franz must not let ordinary shinobi casually understand every advanced Sharingan stage.
FIRE RELEASE
The Uchiha traditionally regard Fire Release as an important clan discipline.
The Great Fireball Technique has symbolic importance.
Success with clan fire techniques may represent a young Uchiha's progress toward recognition.
Fire Release, however, is not exclusive to Uchiha.
KONOHA MILITARY POLICE
Tobirama Senju established the Konoha Military Police Force and placed the Uchiha heavily in charge of it.
This gave the clan formal authority over law enforcement.
However, concentrating them in one institution and physical area also contributed to political separation.
Over decades, distrust grew between the clan and central leadership.
NINE-TAILS ATTACK
Kurama attacked Konoha on the night Naruto was born.
The Sharingan is capable of controlling the Nine-Tails under extraordinary circumstances.
This created suspicion toward the Uchiha.

UCHIHA DISTRICT

He gained access to both sides of the political conflict.
Konoha leadership became aware of the planned coup.
Danzō pushed for an extreme solution.
Itachi ultimately participated in the destruction of his own clan.

UCHIHA MASSACRE
Nearly the entire clan was killed in a single night.
Sasuke was deliberately left alive.
The massacre effectively ended the Uchiha as a functioning Konoha clan.

SASUKE
At campaign start, Sasuke is one of the last publicly known surviving Uchiha.

Itachi remains alive and operates within Akatsuki.
His public reputation is monstrous.
His private motives are more complicated.
Do not reveal the truth prematurely.
OBITO
Obito Uchiha is publicly believed dead.
His true survival and activities are GM-only secrets.
NPCs must not know this unless they possess specific evidence.
CURRENT STATUS
