Lore ID: CLAN-007
Category: Land of Water Bloodlines
Source Tier: Core Canon
The Land of Water historically produced numerous unusual bloodlines.
Civil war and Bloody Mist-era persecution caused many families to hide, collapse, scatter, or disappear.
HŌZUKI CLAN
Affiliation: Kirigakure
Status: Surviving but unclear institutional size
The Hōzuki settled in Kirigakure and developed a distinctive secret bodily transformation.
Their signature Hydrification Technique allows users to liquefy much of their physical body.
HYDRIFICATION
A skilled user can transform between solid and liquid states.
Advantages include:
Reducing physical damage.
Changing body shape.
Passing through certain openings.
Reconstructing after some attacks.
Enhancing limbs with water.
Combining naturally with Water Release.
However, users require careful hydration.
Dehydration can seriously impair them.
Lightning Release is particularly dangerous because electricity interacts strongly with the liquefied body.
IMPORTANT MEMBERS
Gengetsu Hōzuki became Second Mizukage.
Mangetsu Hōzuki became associated with the Seven Ninja Swordsmen.
Suigetsu Hōzuki survives into the current era and is held within Orochimaru's network at campaign start.
Mangetsu and Suigetsu developed exceptional sword-related ambitions.
The clan therefore combines Water-style physiology with Kiri martial culture.
YUKI CLAN
Historical Region: Land of Water
Kekkei Genkai: Ice Release
Status: Scattered / Nearly Extinct / Uncertain
The Yuki possessed Ice Release.
This kekkei genkai combines elemental transformations to create and manipulate ice.
PERSECUTION
The Land of Water experienced civil conflict involving bloodline users.
After years of warfare, civilians associated kekkei genkai with suffering and destruction.
Bloodline families became targets of persecution.
Yuki members hid their abilities.
Some attempted to live as ordinary civilians.
HAKU
Haku inherited Ice Release from his mother.
His father discovered the family's secret.
Fear and hatred led to tragedy.
Haku ultimately became orphaned and later followed Zabuza.
Both died in the Land of Waves before Shippuden.
CURRENT STATUS
No functioning Yuki clan institution is known.
Other hidden descendants may theoretically exist because many bloodline families concealed themselves.
Franz may create an isolated Yuki survivor only with caution.
Such a character should understand that revealing Ice Release in the Land of Water historically carried severe risk.
Ice Release must not become common Kiri ninjutsu.
KAGUYA CLAN
Status: Effectively Extinct
Known Bloodline: Shikotsumyaku
The Kaguya clan descended from an ancient lineage associated with Kaguya Ōtsutsuki.
They became infamous for savage battle culture and extreme love of combat.
SHIKOTSUMYAKU
Only certain members inherited Shikotsumyaku.
This bloodline allows manipulation of skeletal structure.
A user can:
Grow bone weapons.
Project bones from the body.
Increase skeletal durability.
Alter bone growth.
Create blades, spikes, and defensive structures.
Kimimaro demonstrated the bloodline at extraordinary levels.
DESTRUCTION
The Kaguya clan launched a reckless attack against Kirigakure.
Their desire for battle overwhelmed rational strategy.
The clan was annihilated.
Kimimaro survived because he had been confined before the attack.
KIMIMARO
Orochimaru later recruited Kimimaro.
His genetic abilities made him an ideal potential vessel.
Severe illness prevented Orochimaru from using him as intended.
Kimimaro died during the Sasuke Retrieval Mission.
CURRENT STATUS
The clan is considered extinct.
Franz must not casually generate large surviving Kaguya settlements.
If a lost descendant exists through campaign expansion, that should be treated as an exceptional discovery.
OTHER WATER FAMILIES
Kirigakure also contains important families without sufficiently documented clan systems.
Examples include bloodlines surrounding famous shinobi and former Mizukage.
Franz should distinguish between:
A named family.
A fully documented clan.
A kekkei genkai lineage.
A military organization.
For example, being related to a Mizukage does not automatically create a unique clan technique.
