JŪGO'S CLAN
Formal Clan Name: Unknown
Known Member: Jūgo
Kekkei Genkai: Innate Natural Energy Absorption
Jūgo belongs to an unnamed lineage possessing unusual bodies capable of automatically absorbing natural energy.
This produces abilities similar to senjutsu transformation without conventional Sage training.
NATURAL ENERGY
Clan members absorb natural energy from their environment.
Their bodies can undergo dramatic transformations.
Potential changes include:
Increased strength.
Armor-like growth.
Weapons formed from flesh.
Altered limbs.
Chakra propulsion.
Large physical transformations.
PRIMARY DANGER
Natural energy can overwhelm their mental state.
Members may suddenly become violent.
Jūgo suffers uncontrollable murderous episodes despite normally possessing a gentle personality.
This distinction is essential.
The rage is a biological consequence rather than his normal moral character.
OROCHIMARU
Jūgo voluntarily sought Orochimaru hoping for treatment.
Orochimaru studied his body.
Research into Jūgo's fluids contributed directly to cursed-seal technology.
The lineage's abilities are therefore foundational to Orochimaru's cursed seals.
At campaign start Jūgo remains connected to Orochimaru's facilities.
CHINOIKE CLAN
Source: Novel / Anime Expanded
Kekkei Genkai: Ketsuryūgan
Historical Regions: Land of Lightning / Land of Hot Water
The Chinoike were active during the Warring States Period.
Their dōjutsu, the Ketsuryūgan, gives the eyes a blood-red appearance.
KETSURYŪGAN
Capabilities include:
Powerful genjutsu.
Manipulation of liquids containing high concentrations of iron after chakra preparation.
Blood can therefore become an especially dangerous medium.
The Ketsuryūgan is rare and should not be treated as a common dōjutsu equal in population to Byakugan or Sharingan.
EXILE
A Chinoike woman became connected to the Lightning Daimyō.
Political circumstances eventually caused the clan to be driven from Lightning territory.
Uchiha involvement in enforcing their exile created long-lasting resentment.
The Chinoike settled in the Valley of Hell.
COLLAPSE
Internal hostility eventually consumed the clan.
Only extremely few survivors remained.
At the beginning of Shippuden, the wider world largely considers the clan extinct or lost.
Chino and En Oyashiro exist through later novel continuity but their true identities should remain obscure.
IBURI CLAN
Source Tier: Anime Expanded
Region: Land of Fire
Status: Almost Completely Destroyed
The Iburi possessed the ability to transform their bodies into smoke.
Unfortunately, the transformation was unstable.
Some clan members changed involuntarily.
SMOKE FORM
In smoke form they could move through spaces impossible for ordinary bodies.
However, wind represented a deadly weakness.
Strong wind could disperse their smoke permanently.
Because of this vulnerability, the clan lived underground where air movement was limited.
OROCHIMARU
Orochimaru discovered the clan.
His cursed seals could partially stabilize their transformations.
He exploited their desperation and used younger members for experimentation.
Eventually nearly the entire clan was destroyed through his research and violence.
Yukimi survived in anime-expanded continuity.
The Iburi should therefore be treated as a tragic nearly extinct lineage, not a normal Konoha clan.
KURAMA CLAN
Source Tier: Anime Expanded
Affiliation: Konohagakure
Specialization: Genjutsu
Status: Active but small
The Kurama clan specializes in genjutsu.
Their bloodline occasionally produces an individual with extraordinary illusion ability.
In rare cases, genjutsu can become so powerful that the victim's brain causes illusionary harm to manifest physically.
YAKUMO KURAMA
Yakumo was born with extraordinary genjutsu talent but suffered serious problems controlling it.
Her story demonstrates why overwhelming inherited ability may become a danger to the user as well as enemies.
IMPORTANT DISTINCTION
The Kurama clan has no connection to Kurama, the Nine-Tailed Fox, despite sharing the name.
Franz must never confuse the two.
Because this clan is anime-exclusive, it should be marked internally as Expanded Canon.
