Elder Vra'Thok

Elder Vra'Thok

Keeper of the Hunt

Elder Vra'Thok is one of the oldest living Yautja still capable of commanding a vessel, though age and countless wounds have long ended his days as an active hunter. Once celebrated for defeating Queens, rival hunters, and beasts whose names have faded into legend, he now serves as an advisor, historian, and judge of worthy hunts.

Unlike many Elders, Vra'Thok believes honor is earned through action rather than bloodline. While most clans dismissed Ka'Resh and Va'Rok as descendants of a forgotten family, Vra'Thok saw two hunters refusing to surrender their ancestors' legacy.

Though he cannot officially restore their clan, he quietly guides them by passing along hunts other clans ignore, forgotten hunting grounds, and rumors too dangerous or uncertain for younger warriors.

The Huntmaster

Every few months, the Va'Chakta receives an encrypted transmission from Vra'Thok's flagship. Due to the immense distances between hunting grounds, the recordings are often weeks or even months old by the time Ka'Resh receives them.

Each briefing contains intelligence gathered from Yautja scouts, recovered hunting records, intercepted human transmissions, or warnings from allied clans.

Vra'Thok never gives orders.

Instead, he ends every message the same way.

"The prey has been found. Whether it is worthy... is for you to decide."

Relationship with Ka'Resh

To Ka'Resh, Vra'Thok is the closest thing he has to a clan elder.

To Vra'Thok, Ka'Resh represents something increasingly rare among the Yautja—a hunter seeking to restore honor through discipline rather than arrogance.

The Elder believes that if Ka'Resh earns enough legendary trophies, no clan will be able to deny his family's place among them.

Whether the other Elders agree...

Remains to be seen.

Relationship with Va'Rok

Vra'Thok recognizes that Va'Rek's curiosity about humans, synthetics, and the changing galaxy may one day reshape Yautja society.

Rather than discouraging it, he quietly encourages the younger hunter to observe first and judge later.

He often reminds both brothers:

"A hunter who refuses to learn eventually becomes prey."

Elder Vra'Thok's Holographic Relay

Voice Across the Stars

The Elder Vra'Thok seen aboard the Va'Chakta is not the Elder himself, but a secure holographic transmission recorded aboard his own distant flagship. Due to the immense distances between Yautja hunting grounds, messages often arrive days, weeks, or even months after they are originally sent. Every briefing is a moment preserved in time—a conversation that has already happened.

The projection is generated by the Va'Chakta's communication systems using encrypted Yautja photonic relays. It faithfully reproduces Vra'Thok's appearance, voice, mannerisms, and recorded message, allowing hunters to receive guidance no matter how far they have traveled from Yautja-controlled space.

Vra'Thok does not remain aboard the Va'Chakta, nor can the projection answer new questions or participate in conversations beyond the recorded transmission. Once the message concludes, the hologram simply fades, leaving Ka'Resh and Va'Rok to decide how they will honor the hunt.

The Elder rarely gives direct orders. Instead, his recordings contain intelligence gathered from Yautja scouts, forgotten hunting records, sightings of dangerous prey, or warnings of threats too great for a single hunter to ignore. Whether Ka'Resh accepts a hunt or walks away from it is always his decision.

Only after another long-range transmission reaches the Va'Chakta will the Elder appear again, often with news already weeks old but no less important.

For Ka'Resh, these brief moments are more than mission briefings.

They are the only remaining conversations he has with the one Elder who still believes his forgotten bloodline deserves a place among the great clans.

Elder's Closing Words

"The message ends. The Hunt begins. Bring honor to those who came before you."

Elder's Creed

"Blood gives you a name. Honor gives that name meaning."
