Oakhaven Blacksmith

Oakhaven Blacksmith

The Oakhaven Blacksmith is a place of raw power and creation, its sturdy stone walls echoing with the clang of hammer on anvil. A plume of dark smoke often rises from its forge, and the scent of hot metal and coal hangs heavy in the air. Inside, sparks fly as Gareth Stonehand, a powerfully built man with forearms like tree trunks, shapes raw iron into tools, hardware, and even decorative metalwork. He crafts ploughshares for the local farms, mends broken wagon wheels, and forges the occasional sword or shield for village guards or adventurous travelers. Gareth is a man of few words, but his work speaks volumes, providing the essential metal goods that keep Oakhaven running.

The Oak & Acorn Tavern and Inn

The Oak & Acorn Tavern and Inn

Dominating the village square, the Oak & Acorn is a beacon of warmth and camaraderie. Its large wooden structure, with a welcoming sign depicting an oak tree and a falling acorn, exudes a comforting aura. Inside, a roaring stone hearth banishes the chill, casting a warm glow over sturdy wooden tables and benches. The air is thick with the inviting aromas of roasted meats and rich ale, accompanied by the lively murmur of conversation and the occasional burst of laughter. Trevor Ironfist, a burly man with a booming laugh and a heart as warm as his hearth, runs the establishment. He's not just a proprietor but a confidante and a storyteller, always ready to share a tale or lend an ear. Finias Moondew, the love of his life, always helping and loyal by his side. The inn above offers simple but comfortable lodging for weary travelers, making it the primary point of contact for anyone passing through Oakhaven, and a vital source of news and stories from beyond the village borders.

Woodcraft Carpentry

Woodcraft Carpentry

The Woodcraft Carpentry shop is a fragrant space, constantly filled with the clean, earthy scent of freshly cut wood and the soft whisper of planes. Piles of timber, from sturdy oak to lighter pine, are stacked outside, waiting to be transformed. Master Frederick "Oakheart" Finch, a patient and skilled carpenter, turns raw lumber into the very bones of Oakhaven – sturdy furniture for homes, strong doors for shops, and essential building materials for new constructions or repairs. He also crafts more intricate items, from cradles to carved wooden toys, each piece imbued with the warmth of his craftsmanship. His shop is a testament to the village's connection to the surrounding forests and the enduring beauty of natural materials.
