Distributation of the Peoples

Across the continent of Terra, the geographic distribution and demographic movement of the races reflect the friction between ancient elemental tradition and the rapid, soot-choked rise of industrial power. From the depths of the lightless abysses to the highest ivory citadels above the cloud line, the territories of Terra are defined as much by ecological compromise and trade corridors as they are by ancient racial rivalries.

Humanity: The Ubiquitous Adaptors

Humanity’s short lifespans and relentless drive for expansion have made them the most widely distributed species on Terra. Unbound by the generational tradition or environmental dependencies of the elder races, humans inhabit almost every biome capable of supporting life, adapting their settlements to match local resources and strategic advantages.

Independent Sovereign Realms & Industrial Hubs

The vast majority of the human population resides within sovereign human nations, sprawling from densely populated coastal metropolitan centers to rural farming agrarian frontiers. The paramount example of human territorial dominance is Nadaren, a soot-stained, heavily industrialized titan of a nation built around major river arteries and oceanic bays. In these human-dominated heartlands, cities are dense, multi-tiered urban environments dominated by brick tenements, roaring ironworks, coal-fired power plants, and vast rail networks. Surrounding these industrial hubs are vast networks of agricultural villages, timber mills, and military outposts that feed the insatiable appetite of the urban centers.

Human Enclaves in Dverga Holds

Beyond their own borders, humans maintain a permanent and thriving presence within the subterranean and mountain territories of The Dverga. In the sprawling subterranean holds of the Iron-Forger factions, entire districts are dedicated to human merchants, diplomats, engineers, and migrant laborers. These "Surface Quarters" or "Lower Markets" are specifically retrofitted with higher ceilings, extensive ventilation shafts to clear coal smoke, and surface-imported food markets. Humans living in Dverga holds typically serve as logistics brokers, trade liaisons to surface cartels, or specialized surface-craftsmen, forming a crucial bridge between subterranean mining complexes and surface industrial markets.

Exceptions within the Vioalfar Canopies

While the vast majority of human expansion brings ecological devastation, rare exceptions exist within the deep, ancestral woodlands of The Vioalfar. Human settlements inside or immediately adjacent to Vioalfar canopy territories are exceptionally scarce and subject to strict spiritual and ecological scrutiny. The few humans permitted to live within these primeval groves are members of cautious, non-industrial societies—often druidic circles, herbalist herbalists, or forest-dwelling trappers who have explicitly rejected black powder, steam machinery, and coal extraction. These human enclaves act as buffer zones, adopting the bio-architecture and forest preservation rites of the Wood Elves in exchange for protection from industrial logging cartels.

The Dverga: Subterranean Masters & Free Traders

The dense-boned, master craftspeople known as The Dverga occupy the vast mountain spines and deep subterranean halls of Terra. Despite their underground origin, their control over raw mineral wealth and metalworking makes them one of the most mobile and economically integrated races in the world.

The Ancestral Holds & The Great Ignition

The heart of Dverga civilization remains their massive mountain fortresses and deep subterranean keeps. However, the demographic distribution of the Dverga is internally fractured by "The Great Ignition." Modernist Dverga—the Iron-Forgers—inhabit lower mountain tiers and sprawling industrial holds powered by steam dredges, pneumatic drills, and electric arc lighting. Traditionalist Dverga—the Stone-Keepers—retreat deeper into the pristine, unpolluted roots of the mountains, maintaining isolated, quiet halls centered around natural acoustic chambers and ancient magma forges.

Freedom of Movement in Human Lands

Dverga travel freely and frequently throughout human territories. In almost every major human city, particularly industrial centers like Nadaren, there is a distinct Dverga district characterized by stone-paved plazas, low-slung heavy masonry architecture, deep smithy vaults, and specialized banking houses. Dverga merchants, master masons, and metallurgical engineers move along human rail lines and merchant shipping lanes without restriction, operating as the undisputed authority on heavy construction, mining logistics, and structural engineering.

Cautious Commerce with the Dokkalfar

Along the deepest borders of the subterranean world, Dverga trading posts occasionally interface with The Dokkalfar. These encounter points—known as the Shadow Markets—occur in neutral, heavily fortified abyssal checkpoints far below the surface holds. Here, Dverga merchants trade refined alloys, surface grains, and heavy structural timber for Dokkalfar clockwork components, rare volcanic reagents, and light-bending silks. However, even the most daring Dverga traders draw a strict line at the threshold of the Obsidian Underreach. Dverga NEVER venture into the true Dokkalfar abyss, fully aware that the lightless environment, toxic gas vents, and ruthless social pragmatism of the Dark Elves make uninvited surface visitors instant prey.

The Gnomes: Symbiotic Industrial Architects

Unlike other races that claim vast territorial borders on a map, The Gnomes possess almost no independent, sovereign land of their own. Standing barely three feet tall, their entire civilization is defined by total, seamless integration into the industrializing societies of other races.

Integration into Human Empire

Gnomes are heavily concentrated in major human industrial hubs and corporate capitals. In cities like Nadaren, gnomes do not live in segregated ghettos; rather, they occupy high-ranking positions within corporate boards, engineering guilds, research universities, and state armories. Gnome-designed districts feature specialized miniature catwalks, elevated mechanical lifts, and scaled-down laboratory complexes built directly atop human factories. Revered for their unmatched mastery of high-pressure steam boilers, assembly line logistics, and explosive chemistry, gnomes are welcomed into human urban centers as elite architects of progress.

Presence in Dverga Manufacturing

A significant portion of the gnomish population resides within the modernist holds of the Dverga. Working hand-in-hand with the Iron-Forger clans, gnomes optimize Dverga foundry designs, introduce high-efficiency gear ratios to subterranean rail systems, and design specialized ventilation networks for deep-shaft mining. While traditionalist Dverga view gnomes as noisy, sacrilegious instigators of industrial chaos, modernist Dverga consider them indispensable partners in extracting and processing Terra's mineral wealth.

The Wild Blood Host: Tribal Sovereignty & Marginal Trade

The Wild Blood Host—a predatory, highly disciplined coalition composed of Orcs, Ogres, Minotaurs, and Goblins—occupies the vast, untamed wildernesses of Terra. Their territories encompass rugged badlands, volcanic steppes, dense highland crags, and deep river basins that industrial empires have yet to fully tame or clear.

Territorial Isolation & Environmental Warfare

The Host lives in a state of perpetual anti-industrial holy war against soot-emitting empires. They maintain nomadic encampments, heavily fortified palisade strongholds, and subterranean lair networks built into natural cavern systems. Their shamanic leaders, such as God-Callers and Hex-Weavers, actively alter the environment around their borders, raising dust storms, mudslides, and localized quakes to halt the advance of human logging trains and Dverga surveying teams.

Selective Trade with Non-Industrial Humans

While the Wild Blood Host attacks industrial human supply lines and coal-mining operations on sight, they are not entirely closed to external trade. They maintain cautious, seasonal trade contact with human settlements that explicitly eschew heavy industry. In neutral border valleys or sacred grove trading grounds, Host caravans swap tanned monster hides, rare medicinal herbs, livestock, and unrefined gems for human agricultural produce, woven textiles, and salt. The moment a human settlement erects a coal-burning furnace or welcomes a rifle regiment, however, all trade ceases, and the settlement is marked for total purging by Orc warlords and Ogre shock troops.
