Driven by spiritual fervor and an innate hatred for civilization's mechanical sprawl, the Host operates as a martial caste system where rank is determined entirely by martial prowess, spiritual resonance, and physical dominance.
Occupying the absolute bottom rung of the Host's hierarchy, goblins are a borderline-feral threat tolerated only for their sheer numbers and unhinged aggression.
Physiology & Demeanor: Standing between 3 to 4 feet tall, goblins are wire-muscled, twitchy creatures with oversized ears, needle-like teeth, and dark-adapted eyes. They communicate in a high-pitched, chattering dialect of the Host's tongue, constantly squabbling among themselves for scraps of food or favor from their larger overseers.
Armament & Combat Role: Goblins construct crude, scavenged equipment. They enter battle armed with notched iron shortswords, wooden bucklers bound with scrap metal, short spears, and bent shortbows dipped in swamp toxins.
Tactical Utility: In battle, Orc commanders treat goblins as expendable screen troops. They are driven forward in howling swarms to trigger traps, deplete enemy ammunition, and overwhelm defensive lines through sheer attrition before the heavy infantry strikes.
Above the goblins sit the towering, heavy-hitting shock forces of the alliance. While lacking the tactical foresight of the Orcs, Ogres and Minotaurs earn their high status through sheer physical terror.
Ogres (The Devouring Maw) Standing 9 to 11 feet tall, Ogres are massive hulks of dense bone and muscle. Though intellectually slow and easily manipulated, their speech is guttural, direct, and terrifyingly clear when demanding meat or glory.
Role: Ogres serve as living battering rams and heavy shock infantry. Armed with massive iron-studded clubs, tree-trunk mauls, and thick hide armor, they smash through fortified gates and disrupt spear walls with terrifying ease.
Minotaurs (The Labyrinthian Vanguard) Brawny, 8-foot-tall bovine humanoids, Minotaurs possess a fierce, prideful intelligence centered around war-craft and territorial dominance. They speak in deep, rumbling tones and hold a deep reverence for the spirit of the hunt.
Role: Minotaurs function as elite shock troops and vanguard commanders. Armed with heavy greataxes and double-headed war-picks, they charge headlong into the fray, using their sweeping horns and massive frames to break enemy formations into chaotic, isolated pockets.
At the absolute apex of the Wild Blood Host stand the Orcs. Standing 6 to 7 feet tall with thick gray-green hide, prominent tusks, and broad shoulders, Orcs possess superior strategic intellect compared to their kin, combined with an unshakable warrior ethic.
The Warrior Class Orcish society is built entirely around martial skill and physical supremacy. Honor is derived from combat victory, and leadership is won through trial by blood. Orc warriors undergo rigorous training from youth, mastering heavy war-axes, curved falchions, and formidable tower shields. They march in disciplined phalanxes, enforcing strict order among the erratic Ogres and feral Goblins.
Shamanism & Voodoo Arts What truly unifies and empowers the Host is the spiritual authority of the Orcish God-Callers and Hex-Weavers:
Ancestral Shamanism: Orcish shamans commune with the ancient earth spirits, channeling elemental fury to summon raging dust storms, invoke stone-skin wards over their warriors, or shatter enemy morale with localized tremors.
Voodoo & Death Magic: Hex-weavers practice potent, visceral blood magic. Using bone fetishes, effigies, and sacrifice, they inflict crippling curses on enemy commanders, curdle rations mid-march, and drive their own vanguard into unyielding berserker rages.
The shamanistic worldview of the Orcs places the Wild Blood Host in direct ideological and military opposition to the world’s rapidly advancing industrial powers—most notably the soot-choked realm of Nadaren and the iron-working Dverga clans.
Spiritual Desecration: To the Orc shamans, the black smoke of steam engines, the strip-mining of sacred mountains, and the chemical pollution of waterways represent an unpardonable sin against the living earth spirits.
Warfare of Fire & Spirit: The Host wages an unrelenting holy war against industrialization. In response to rifle corps and steam-driven ironclads, Orc shamans weave dense, unnatural fogs to ruin gunpowder, rot rifle stocks with sudden moisture, and call down lightning strikes directly onto metal war-machines.
Where industrial empires see progress, coal, and steel, the Wild Blood Host sees an abomination that must be cleansed in fire, blood, and iron.
Suspicion, Fear, and Uneasy Distrust
The Wild Blood Host views the Alfar as ancient, unnatural relics. Where the Host revere the raw earth, the elves wield high artifice or deep shadow. Though Orc shamans despise elven arrogance, outright hostility is tempered by cautious fear—especially of the Dokkalfar, whose darkmithril blades and lingering toxins can fell a raging Ogre before a blow is struck. Yet, a cold pragmatism prevails: both factions despise the industrial pollution of nations like Nadaren and the Dverga.
