Current Weyrwoman of @Benden Weyr, Jora, dies shortly after the mating flight of her golden dragon, Nemorth. Because Nemorth is tied to the clutch she conceived during the mating flight, she does not go between in suicide.
@F'lar visits @Ruatha on search for candidates for the clutch of eggs hardening on the Benden Weyr hatching grounds. @Lessa uses her abilities and manipulates the dinner held by the hold to cause a dispute. The stress of the situation forces Fax's wife, Gemma, into labor. F'lar kills Fax in a duel and Gemma dies during childbirth, though Jaxom is successfully delivered from her body and his life saved.
The morning Nemorth's clutches prepares to hatch, she suicides between, leaving the weyrwoman position open to whoever impresses the only remaining golden queen egg on Pern. @Ramoth hatches from that egg and @Lessa impresses Ramoth, making Lessa weyrwoman of @Benden Weyr.
@Ramoth rises for her first mating flight with @Mnementh winning the contest, making @F'lar weyrleader of @Benden Weyr and weyrmate to @Lessa.
Renewed Threadfall ends the Eighth Interval and begins the Ninth Pass
@Lessa jumps between times to the end of the Eighth Pass and brings forward five weyrs of dragons, riders, and weyrfolk

Masterharper Robinton passes away in his sleep at one of the stations used to access AIVAS. At the same time AIVAS shuts down it's artificial intelligence personality to leave Pern with only its database of information so that its intelligence personality would not play too strong of a role in guiding or stifling the growth of the Pernese civilization.
A large, cometary fragment strikes Pern in the Eastern Ring Sea, causing a tsunami that causes damage to portions of the coastlines. @Dragonriders and @Dragons as well as @Dolphins manage to evacuate everyone from the coast. Eventually the waters recede and repairs and rebuilding begins. A star-watch is established and @The Starsmiths Hall begins to watch the skies of pern through observatories to monitor potential future meteor strikes.
During the feline attack on @F'lessan and @Golanth, @Dragons begin to learn how to use previously dormant powers of telekinesis from Golanth and Zaranth.
