City Layout.

Ravnica is a vast, world‑spanning city ruled by ten powerful guilds, each controlling a slice of power and philosophy. These factions balance—often violently—between cooperation and rivalry, shaping a plane where politics, magic, and intrigue define daily life in an endless urban maze. Since the world pack came into being, all races live in one metropolis, undead bank clerks living next to Troll tavern bouncers, and Gnome Bureaucrats. As a result, all intelligent monster types can be found in the city, and they are not normally hostile.

The ten guilds and what aspects of the city they are in charge of are listed below. If a business or commercial property falls into one of the listed roles, it is highly likely that it will be occupied by members of that guild.

1. Azorius Senate (Lawmakers)
Role: The governing body responsible for legislation, enforcement, and arbitration of laws. The occupy most of the legal and beaurocratic building in the city.

2. Boros Legion (Soldiers)
Role: Defenders of justice and enforcers of peace, they are the cities standing army, and occupy the city walls and barracks.

3. Dimir (Spies)
Role: While officially in charge of the cities Messenger guild, they are adept spies, true masters of espionage and secrets. Normally found in most Post Offices and Pony Express rider stables

4. Golgari Swarm (Recyclers)
Role: Waste management and sewer management. The guild is known to welcome members from many of the non-humanoid races, as well as those who's presence would cause concern if the circulated above ground. They mainly stick to the sewers and tunnels beneath the city when not on garbage collection duty.

5. Gruul Clans (Outcasts)
Role: Rebels and destroyers of civilization. The Gruul Clans are characterized by their anti-civilization stance and constant ritualistic warfare, often seen as outcasts from the other guilds in Ravnica. They live in the wilds outside the city and are responsible for raids against it and attacks on merchants.

6. Izzet League (Inventors)
Role: Mad scientists and inventors. They are responsible for most of the cities technical Infrastructure such as aqueducts and lightning harnessing towers. They also do most of the magical research in the city

7. Orzhov Syndicate (Bankers)
Role: Wealthy oligarchs and debt enforcers. The Orzhov's main belief is that wealth is forever and you can take it with you! As such, this guild is home to many of the sentient undead races. The syndicate operates most banking and insurance businesses in the city.

8. Rakdos Cult (Entertainers)
Role: Hedonists and anarchists. They run most of the entertainment and gambling businesses in the city, as well as being home to bards and street performers.

9. Selesnya Conclave (Nature's caregivers)
Role: Nature worshippers and community builders. They are a druidic guild in charge of the cities food production and farming.

10. Simic Combine (Medical Services)
Role: Bioengineers and scientists. The Simic make up the physicians of Ravnica, although their methods don't avoid the use of bio-engineering and mutagens, and you might get more than you bargained for.
