Yordles

What is a Yordle?

At their core, Yordles are magical, long-lived creatures native to the spiritual realm of Bandle City. They are not simply "furry little people"; they are intrinsically tied to magic and perception.

Key Physical Traits:

  • Appearance: Generally short, bipedal, and covered in soft fur, with a wide variety of animal-like features (ears, snouts, tails).

  • Longevity: They are effectively immortal, aging at an incredibly slow rate. They view time and mortality very differently from humans.

  • Glamour: This is their most defining magical ability. A Yordle's true form is often obscured by a "glamour," a perceptual filter that makes them appear more familiar and less startling to those around them. A human might see a Yordle as just another short person, a child, or simply not pay them much mind unless the Yordle chooses to reveal themselves.

The Bandle City: Home of the Yordles

Bandle City is not a physical city in the way Demacia or Noxus are. It exists in the spiritual realm, connected to Runeterra through a network of magical, hidden pathways called Bandle Portals.

  • Non-Euclidean Geography: Bandle City is chaotic and illogical. Rooms can be bigger on the inside, doors can lead to impossible places, and the geography constantly shifts. It's a place where whimsy and chaos are the natural laws.

  • The Yordle Experience: Because of the portals, a Yordle can step through a door in Bandle City and emerge anywhere in Runeterra. This explains why Yordles are found in every corner of the world, often integrated into societies that don't fully understand what they are.

Yordle Society & Psychology

Yordle society is organized around "Yordle Expeditions"—not necessarily physical journeys, but lifelong pursuits of a specific craft, interest, or emotion.
