Gloomreach

Overview

**Gloomreach** is the last great goblin city, a sprawling labyrinth of vaulted stone halls buried deep within the Southern Crags. Once a jewel of goblin craftsmanship, it endures today as a fractured remnant of its former glory. The orcs of **Ironspine** oversee the city’s vast **mining quarter**, ensuring ore flows steadily to their forges. In exchange, they cremate the goblins’ dead — a grim pact forged in fear of the **Corpse Plague** that once annihilated Gloomdeep.

Gloomreach remains a city divided: a proud people bound to ancient halls, yet shackled by orc oversight and the ever-present memory of plague.

Features

- **Underground Avenues** – Expansive streets carved with the precision of ancient goblin stonecraft, lined with dim-lit dwellings and hidden shrines.

- **The Mining Quarter** – Overseen by orc taskmasters, goblins labor in iron veins and cart ore upward to Ironspine. Minecarts also bear the bodies of the dead, whose ashes are scattered in orc furnaces above.

- **The Silent Halls** – Abandoned vaults once filled with artisans and scholars, now echoing with nothing but dust and fading runes.

Role in the World

- The **last surviving goblin city**, where the echoes of a once-great people persist.

- Bound to **orc overlords** through the funerary pact and flow of ore, yet deeply resentful of dependence.

- A fragile powder keg — goblins cling to memory and pride, while orcs view them only as labor and liability.
