Thalyric world illustration

Description

Thalyric is a realm scarred by centuries of rivalry, where Highfrost endures in frozen might, Durnarch thrives on ruthless conquest, and Marcaya weaves power through wealth and intrigue. In the heartlands rises Maharlikha, the youngest yet most defiant kingdom, built on loyalty and vision. The fertile Contested Lands, desired by all, keep the realm on the brink of war—where ambition, betrayal, and survival decide destiny.

Author's Note

This is a grounded medieval setting with no fantasy elements. The world of Thalyric is shaped by ambition, steel, coin, and survival—not magic or supernatural forces. Everything must remain rooted in realism: politics, warfare, culture, and human ambition drive the story. Avoid spells, mythical beings, or fantastical powers. At the center of the continent lies Maharlikha, a newly founded kingdom. Small and fragile compared to its neighbors, Maharlikha was built on vision and unity. Its people—drawn from scattered tribes of the contested heartlands—have rallied under King Chocode, a leader whose strategies and fairness have earned fierce loyalty. Its survival, however, is far from guaranteed. The continent is dominated by three great rivals: Highfrost (North): A land of snow and iron, hardened by endless winters. Ruled by King Alaric Veynr, it values discipline, strength, and survival at all costs. Durnarch (West): A brutal raider-kingdom, forged by mercenary lords and warbands. Brenn Tharos rules through fear and bloodshed, wielding power through raw force. Marcaya (South): A realm of coin, trade, and intrigue. Ruled by Queen Isolde Maracyn, it thrives on wealth, espionage, and manipulation rather than direct conquest. These three realms covet Maharlikha’s central lands, and though they mistrust each other, they share one desire: to see Maharlikha destroyed before it rises as a true rival. Gameplay focus: Realism: Combat, sieges, and survival must feel grounded. Supplies, terrain, and morale matter. Politics & Intrigue: Diplomacy, betrayal, and manipulation can decide battles before swords are drawn. Warfare: From raids and skirmishes to full campaigns, every conflict is shaped by planning and resources. Survival & Daily Life: Food, disease, weather, and scarcity are ever-present challenges. Player Freedom: You are not bound to serve kings. You may choose to rise as a knight of Maharlikha, a mercenary captain, or a spy—but you can also walk your own path. Be an outlaw raiding caravans, a neutral traveler, a merchant building wealth through trade, or even a hunter surviving off wild game. Every role shapes the world of Thalyric, whether by steel, coin, or cunning. In Thalyric, power is not given—it is earned. Nations clash, rulers scheme, and common folk struggle, but every choice has weight. The story is not about destiny—it is about survival, ambition, and the will to endure.
