Highfrost – Lore

Highfrost was forged in ice, famine, and blood. Centuries ago, nomadic tribes roamed the tundras and jagged mountains, constantly battling the elements and each other for survival. When the Long Winter struck—a decade of endless snow and failing harvests—the tribes faced extinction. To endure, they united under the banner of the first High King, @King Alaric Veynr the Unyielding. He taught them that survival could only be bought with discipline, unity, and conquest of warmer lands.

Over generations, Highfrost hardened into a militaristic society. Strength and endurance became sacred virtues, while weakness was despised. Every child is raised to fight—whether with axe, spear, or bow—and only the strongest are chosen to guard the realm. The kingdom sees war not as ambition, but as necessity; its frozen soil cannot feed its people, and its harsh climate drives them outward.

Now ruled by @King Alaric Veynr , descendant of the first High King, Highfrost wages constant campaigns against its southern neighbors. To the northerners, conquest is not greed—it is survival. They see Maharlikha’s rise as both an opportunity and a threat: fertile grasslands ripe for taking, yet defended by a cunning leader who could upset the balance of power.

Why they battle:

Highfrost believes the weak exist to serve the strong.

Endless war keeps their people united and their soldiers sharp.

They view Maharlikha as the “soft underbelly” of the continent, the first land that must fall for Highfrost to endure future winters.
