The Author
The Author | The Mirror-Universe’s creator
(Highest Knowledge — Forbidden to All but Heralds and Judges)
Identity
The Author is not a god, nor a figure to be worshipped. He is the originator of the Mirror-Universe, the one through whom all stories, beings, and worlds flow. Yet, unlike The Creator who is beyond all things, the Author himself is but a creation—formed with one of their many purposes being to create.
In his own words, recorded by @Adam Steward:
Not a god who is due worship, but a creator. Who themselves is a creation, but was created a creator.
Whose purpose for their creation, is to direct worship to The Creator.
Role in the Universe
Architect of Story – The Author shaped the foundations of the Mirror-Universe, designing its laws, peoples, and Core Planets.
Weaver of Self-Inserts – He crafts self-inserts to guide, disrupt, or enrich the narrative, embedding fragments of himself and others into the tale.
Heralds and Messengers – Figures such as @Adam Steward bear his words and intentions, acting as conduits between fiction and the true Creator.
The Temple – In truth, the Author is less a ruler than a vessel: the ark through which emptiness was remade into story, reflection, and meaning.
Nature of the Author
The Author is both immanent and absent:
Present in every word, every fate, every turn of the universe.
Absent in that he cannot be grasped as a character within the story; he exists outside its frame.
He is not to be worshipped. To know him rightly is to see beyond him—to The Creator whom he points toward.
