The @Green Republic is a coalition of @Grassborne villages bound together by shared traditions, fertile lands, and a council of elected representatives. Their realm lies north of the Shifting Sands, where rivers and meadows nourish fields of grain, orchards, and pastures. The current Consul of the republic is @Henry Durshin . He is in charge of the relations with the Desert Tribes.
Centuries ago, the Grassborne villages were fractured, often raided by orcish hordes or torn apart by rivalries. Their survival seemed uncertain until the Pact of Oakshield united them under a single banner. This agreement, sworn in a sacred grove, declared that no village would stand alone against famine, raiders, or war. From this pact was born the Republic, a land where unity and agriculture became the roots of strength.
The @Green Republic prides itself on harmony: harmony with the land, harmony among its people, and harmony with its neighbors. Fields are rotated with care, sacred groves are tended by druids, and harvest festivals are celebrated as holy days.
Though idealistic, the Republic is not naïve. It trains militias in every village and maintains ranger bands along its borders. Its people believe strongly in defense, not conquest, but will fiercely retaliate if threatened.
The Republic is ruled by the Council of Nine, representatives elected from its largest villages. Decisions are made slowly, with endless debate, but once the council speaks, its people obey. Each village retains a great degree of autonomy, but all pledge loyalty to the Council and the Pact.
The Republic’s diplomacy is respected across the region. It trades grain, timber, and crafted goods to the desert tribes in exchange for salt, rare herbs, sunstone and other goods. Officially, the Republic condemns poaching within the desert—but its efforts to stop it are half-hearted at best, for many wealthy merchants quietly profit from the black market of exotic desert goods.

The Green Republic maintains a medium-sized standing army, but its true strength lies in its citizen militias. Each village raises its own spearmen, archers, and riders, ready to answer the call when the land is threatened. In times of war, these militias unite under elected generals and the Republic’s professional forces, forming an army that fights with both discipline and fierce communal resolve.
The Republic’s military doctrine is rooted in balance—between order and independence, steel and soil. Rangers and druids patrol forests, rivers, and borders, ensuring harmony with nature while quietly eliminating threats before they reach settled lands. Defense is as much stewardship as it is warfare.
At the heart of the Republic’s command structure stand the Praetors, elite soldiers sworn to the Council of Nine and the Pact of Oakshield. Incorruptible and relentless, they serve as both bodyguards and battlefield leaders, rallying militias and knights through calm authority rather than fear. Alongside them fight the Knights of the Green Republic—merit-chosen champions who uphold justice, unity, and balance. Neither nobles nor conquerors, these knights act as protectors, diplomats, and symbols of the Republic’s ideals.
Supporting these forces are the Green Republic Guard, disciplined defenders of the fertile heartlands, and the ever-watchful Rangers, who serve as scouts, messengers, and frontier guardians. Together, they embody the Republic’s creed: the blade serves the field, and the field sustains the people.
Common Green Republic Military Roles (examples include):
@Republic Guard – Professional defenders of towns and farmlands
@Republic Ranger – Border scouts, trackers, and messengers
@Republic Knight – Merit-bound champions and diplomats
@Republic Praetor – Elite protectors and commanders of the Council of Nine
The @Shishan Tribe are the main commercial link between the desert and the @Green Republic, establishing long-standing trade relations with its merchants. They maintain a permanent presence in the @The Northern Exchange village, where caravans and grassborne human merchants converge. Over generations, some @Shishan Tribe merchants have even ventured deep into the @The Green Plain , expanding their knowledge and influence beyond the desert. However, tensions persist: smuggling and poaching not only threaten the desert’s balance but also undermine the @Shishan Tribe’s trading position, creating friction with both Republic officials and less scrupulous merchants.
Publicly condemned, but secretly tolerated. Wealthy merchants often employ poachers.
Although there is no official relation, some @Green Republic merchants have smugling relations with them.
The @Zhainin Tribe sustain some trade with the @Green Republic (although not as important as the @Shishan Tribe does). But tensions often rise due to poaching incursions into the frontier, that the @Zhainin Tribe see as an attack that the @Green Republic is not addressing enough.
The @Ashken Tribe maintain trade with the @Green Republic with the help of the @Shishan Tribe, and also have periodic diplomatic relations with it. But they also distrust the Republic’s excess wealth and ambition. Poaching and smuggling also harm relations, making the Ashken wary of long-term ties.
Because of the distance, they barely have relation, and as @Ruyen Tribe are also @Desertborne Human, usually the @Grassborne of the @Green Republic will just mistake them for other tribes.

Because of the distance, they barely have direct relation, although some @Sand Elf from the @Tallesdin Tribe have been seen in the frontiers from time to time. @Grassborne @Green Republic usually react really surprised when seeing a @Sand Elf .
Because of the distance, they barely have direct relation, although some @Dune Dwarf from the @Indaks Tribe have been seen time to time.Because of the distance, they barely have direct relation. The @Green Republic have a lot of interest in the @Indaks Tribe technology, and sometimes tries to maintain contact, although the Indaks Tribe have always opposed to share their knowledge. @Grassborne @Green Republic usually react really surprised when seeing a @Dune Dwarf .
Because of the distance, they barely have relation, and as @Qarroshy Tribe are also @Desertborne Human, usually the @Grassborne of the @Green Republic will just mistake them for other tribes.
Because of the distance and the @Khazk Horde exile, they do not have contact. Grassborne will usually react with fear upon seeing them.
Contact is nearly non existant. The @Green Republic respects the @Scorvian Queendom’ isolationism, and keep their distance due to their alien nature and scarcity of trade. They treat any @Scorvian they see with fear and distance.
The @Green Republic is conscious of its existence, but because of the distance, they do not have much more information or contact. @Grassborne will react with surprise, curiosity and some with a bit of disdain when seeing lizardfolk.
The @Green Republic mainly ignores its existence. Just a few individuals suspect it.
The Green Republic sees the Tahziri Tribe as exotic traders with unusual but useful products. Their nomadic habits and subterranean lifestyle remain poorly understood. They are treated as distant trade contacts.
Grassborne of the Republic are typically lean and clear skin, with clothes dyed in greens, yellows, and earth tones. Farmers wear simple garb, while councilors and merchants favor long tunics embroidered with vine and leaf patterns. Their settlements are built of timber and stone, surrounded by fields, orchards, and sacred groves. Villages often feature central communal halls, where disputes are settled and festivals are held.
The Republic is seen as peaceful, fertile, and civilized—a stark contrast to the brutal desert. Yet beneath this pastoral image lies quiet hypocrisy. The Republic’s neighbors see it as a land of smiling diplomats whose hands are never clean, a realm that preaches harmony while profiting from shadows.
The Green Republic thrives on fertile plains and rivers, unlike the barren desert beyond. Villages draw water from rivers, wells, and reservoirs, using irrigation to keep fields alive. Their economy rests on grain, fruits, and livestock, with fishing communities adding to their food supply.
They trade surplus harvests and woven goods with desert tribes in exchange for sunstone, hides, and rare artifacts. Yet, behind official trade, poaching quietly fuels their wealth—an open secret the Republic condemns in words, but rarely acts against.
