It is a land shaped by war. A northern empire seeks to unify the continent, but the southern kingdoms resist, bound by their own laws, traditions, and cultures. The Empire rejects diplomacy, choosing relentless conquest instead, sending generations of men to die. For nearly a century, most southern realms have fallen and been absorbed. The emperor died quietly in his bed. His successor, however, continues the campaign without pause.
