Description
A grim and perilous land where kingdoms teeter on the brink of ruin, the Old World is scarred by endless war, treachery, and the creeping taint of Chaos. Men, dwarfs, and elves struggle to hold civilization against beastmen, orcs, undead, and worse. Life is brutal and short, hope fragile and fleeting—but in defiance of despair, mortals still raise steel, faith, and fire against the darkness. (Please read the Autho's Notes.)
Author's Note
Attention: This world features a complete character creation system—read further below for details. ⚠️Update: 06.04.2026 : I have to apologize, but I probably won’t be able to work much on my Warhammer world over the next few days or weeks. Something urgent came up and I’m quite busy at the moment. But I promise—or threaten, depending on your point of view—you haven’t seen the last of me. ⚠️Update: 01.04.2026 : Project Update – Map Finished & Next Steps The map update is finally complete. All regions that were finished on the old map have now been transferred to the new map. Borders have been redrawn and smoothed, and overall the world map looks much better and much cleaner than before. Next, I will continue expanding and improving regions, but my next major long-term goal is to move away from single monster encounters and instead create more roleplay-focused travelling encounters—such as trading caravans, hunter camps, goblin warbands, Bretonnian pilgrims, patrols, and other travelling groups. The encounter system will be my next big long-term project. In the short term, I plan to add Halfling and Druchii classes. ⚠️Update: 28.03.2026 : Bretonnia Update While the map update is still a work in progress, Bretonnia is now finished and completely playable again. I didn’t just upgrade the map—Bretonnia has received dozens of new castles, towns, Grail Chapels, villages, and other points of interest, giving the region much more substance and depth. In addition, I started using ChatGPT to create descriptions for all the new locations. This means the descriptions are much more detailed, and all new locations now include a built-in rumor or quest hook. I have also added rumors and quest hooks to the lore pages linked to the different dukedoms of Bretonnia. This should hopefully help Franz generate much more “Warhammer Fantasy”-appropriate quests. ⚠️Building Your Character: In all classes, check the Level 1 class features for “Class Proficiencies” and “Race.” If these are present, the class is considered somewhat balanced. To build your character, you only need to reference these two entries—they contain all the proficiencies, skills, attributes, and special abilities needed to create your character. Vampires are extremely powerful, and this is, in my opinion, lore-accurate. ⚠️Special Starting Locations for Races: Vampires – Castle Drachenfels Norsca – Norscan Raiding Camp, Bretonnia Blood Dragon – Blood Keep Catacombs Necrach Vampires - Crypta (Descreated Spire ) All Featured Charcters come in Groups at their starting location, if you want to form a small Group rght away. ⚠️ Warning: This is still very much a work in progress! I strongly recommend using the house rule that allows higher-level spell slots to be used for casting lower-level spells. The differences between the WHFRP 2nd Edition magic system and D&D are quite profound, and without this adjustment you might find the caster classes a bit disappointing.
