Lore + Updated World Layout

Hey Friends, we’re releasing the World Lore update in two parts. In this first release world builders can now start to create lore pages in their worlds.
We expect to have a follow-up update within a couple weeks which redesigns how players can manage custom context, allowing you to bring in world lore and any other arbitrary context into your campaigns. We expect this re-design of custom context to come with simplified changes to the subscription plan features and we’ll have more information on that as we get closer to the part two release.
In this update, Franz is not yet able to read the lore pages. That is coming in the next update!
Updated World Layout
The previous World layout was from an early prototype that probably lived longer than it should have. We view worlds sort of as a book or a wiki of all the content of your world, and with this lore update we’ve updated the tabs so now that they show up in a sidebar which better represents that concept.

This new layout also sets us up for a future update which will introduce an AI world building assistant on the right panel to assist players in creating and building out their worlds.
World Lore
When possible, information should be placed in the structured entities like areas, characters, races, etc. But for things that can’t neatly fit into those categories, lore pages serve as the catch all for any unstructured information about your world.
To create a lore page, hover over the lore tab and click on the ‘+’ button to add a page.

In the page editor, you can add any text to the page, with formatting support for headings, lists, images, and @mentions
. When crafting lore pages, we suggest making good use of headings, as they’ll be useful later for bringing lore sections into context by players and the AI.

What’s Coming Next
In the next update, we’ll have a new unified way for players to manage custom context and bring in things like information from lore pages. After the custom context update, there will be a lull in big feature updates as we shift our focus towards platform stability through bug fixes, QoL updates, infrastructure updates, and porting the web app over to an official mobile app available in the app stores. We’ll have updated timelines on the roadmap soon once we start development on the mobile app.
