About Friends & Fables
Friends & Fables is a generative tabletop roleplaying game (GTTRPG) inspired by Dungeons and Dragons 5e. Our mission is to make TTRPGs more accessible to all, help people create and share more of their creativity, and give friends a fun and convenient way to connect with each other.

History
We initially created Friends & Fables because we wanted to play DnD but found it a challenge to find a group and a dungeon master to play with.
In March 2023, we created an initial prototype as a Discord bot named Franz who acted as an AI game master to fill that gap when you can't find a DM.
We shared it with others and saw a lot of support from players and dungeon masters who faced similar struggles to start and keep campaigns going, and found Friends & Fables to be a useful and fun addition to the hobby.
To build the experience that world builders and players want, it's evolved into its own standalone platform which we continue to improve!
Team
Founded by William Liu and David Melnychuk. We're both long time gamers and software developers with a passion for building new experiences.
