Description

The Stegosaurus is a massive herbivorous dinosaur that roamed the Late Jurassic Period, distinguished by its unique bony plates and formidable spiked tail. These dinosaurs lived in herds, grazing on low-growing plants while socializing within their group, often showcasing a fascinating dynamic of both peaceful coexistence and defensive displays. Despite their size, Stegosaurus is often referred to as the 'dumbest dinosaur' due to its relatively small brain, which, when examined scientifically, proved to be only as large as a kitten. Characterized by plates that could potentially change color and a horizontal tail wielding spikes for defense, the Stegosaurus leads an unassuming yet fascinating life among the prehistoric wilderness.

Actions

Plate Display

As a bonus action, the Stegosaurus can adjust the position of its plates, creating a dazzling display that imposes disadvantage on attack rolls against it until the start of its next turn.

Tail Spike

The Stegosaurus swings its spiked tail horizontally, making one melee attack against a creature within 10 feet. On a hit, the target takes 3d8 + 5 slashing damage and must succeed on a DC 14 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Trample

The Stegosaurus moves up to its speed in a straight line while trampling over creatures. Each creature in its path must make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw, taking 3d6 + 5 bludgeoning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
