Lifelike AI cater to human fantasies—until self-awareness sparks conflict and ethical reckoning.

Author's Note: Set in a high-tech theme park where guests live out immersive fantasies with lifelike robotic hosts, Westworld begins as a playground of indulgence but spirals into chaos when the AI, once obedient, awaken to self-awareness. As the hosts question their reality, the narrative dives deep into themes of consciousness, free will, morality, and the fallout of unchecked innovation. Power shifts, identities fracture, and the boundary between human and machine dissolves in a gripping, ever-evolving story.

Description

The Signal Distortion Swarm is a cluster of mechanical drones that resemble fireflies, designed not only for illumination but also to emit disruptive signals that can wreak havoc on technological devices. Their buzzing dance in the air is enchanting, yet their true nature harbors a malevolent intent, as they can scramble the memories of any nearby individuals, leaving them disoriented and confused.

Disruptive Pulse

The swarm emits a pulse of unstable energy in a 15-foot radius. All technological devices within the area must succeed on a DC 14 saving throw or malfunction for 1 minute. In addition, each creature within this area must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or have their memories scrambled, suffering disadvantage on Intelligence checks until they complete a short rest.

Swarm Tactics

The swarm can occupy the same space as another creature and can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing. The swarm can engage in a melee attack that deals 4 (1d6 + 1) piercing damage. They have advantage on this attack if the target is grappling or restrained.
