Description

Haechongsa is a serene Buddhist temple perched on a cliff overlooking the sea, offering a tranquil sanctuary for meditation and spiritual reflection. Visitors can walk along the tree-lined paths that lead to the temple, finding stone stupas along the way where offerings and prayers are made. The temple grounds feature a striking central building, Daeungjeon, which houses a gilded statue of Buddha surrounded by prowess imagery, along with the Jonggak bell tower and intricately designed stone pagodas signifying spiritual ascent. Open wooden pavilions provide perfect spots for contemplation while admiring the vast sea.
