Goryeo

Cheongmyeon is a deep, mist-shrouded gorge located in Taebaek Sanmaek. The gorge is known for its rough, narrow passages carved over centuries by rushing water and wind. It is dominated by steep cliffs shrouded in thick trees and moss, creating an eerie atmosphere that locals believe is the home of restless spirits. A bluish mist rises from the river below, giving the impression that spirits are watching over the land. The gorge is considered a sacred and somewhat dangerous place. Legend has it that those who venture too deep into its heart without proper offerings or prayers risk angering the spirits. The place is both feared and revered. Some monks and shamans come to the gorge to perform rituals and appease the spirits.
