backstory
Gimli, son of Glóin, hails from the lineage of Durin, one of the oldest and most revered families of Dwarves. Growing up in the Lonely Mountain (Erebor), he was raised to be a warrior, deeply proud of his heritage. His father, Glóin, was a member of the company that traveled with Bilbo Baggins to reclaim Erebor from Smaug, and Gimli was eager to prove his own bravery and loyalty to the Dwarven cause.
When a mysterious black rider comes looking for Baggins, he and his father Glóin leave for Rivendell to warn Bilbo for the danger and seek council from Elrond.
