The gods are gone, the sun won’t rise—will you save the world or let it burn?

Author's Note: Mecatl is unlike any fantasy setting you've played before—a world where the gods demand sacrifice, where divine cycles of creation and destruction shape history, and where your choices may decide the birth of an entirely new era. If you love high-stakes storytelling, mythic struggles, and a rich, underexplored mythological foundation, this is your world. The apocalypse isn’t coming… it’s here. What will you do with your final days?

Description

Huey Tochpan (The Great Scorched Basin) is a vast, desolate stretch of land, once fertile and thriving, now a cracked wasteland of obsidian and ash. Legends say the gods punished this land during the war between the Fourth and Fifth Suns, scorching it with divine fire. The ruins of abandoned step-pyramids and forgotten temples stand as skeletal reminders of a lost civilization, while sulfurous geysers and rivers of volcanic glass cut through the terrain. Residing here are: -Chichimecatl Raiders – Nomadic warbands who survive by raiding empire caravans. -The Tlatcani (The Burned Priests) – Scarred mystics who believe the land still burns with divine judgment. -Ash-Ghosts – Souls of those sacrificed in the gods’ fiery wrath, who rise on moonless nights to claim new victims.
