Laeral Silverhand, born Anamanué Silverhand, is a powerful human wizard and one of the legendary Seven Sisters, chosen by the goddess Mystra. She served as the Open Lord of Waterdeep and was known as the Lady Mage of Waterdeep and the Witch-Queen of the North. Laeral is highly organized, friendly, and proactive in defending her city. She has a deep understanding of evil, having been forced to commit dark acts under the Crown of Horns, and she mediates disputes involving rogues and sentient monsters. She despises magic-users who abuse their power, doppelgangers, and slave-owners. Laeral is always prepared for battle, carrying several hidden daggers and maintaining her magical readiness.
