Description

Sword and Warhammer stands as one of Athkatla’s most respected martial outfitting shops, renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship and no-nonsense clientele. Located near the bustling heart of the Trade District, it serves mercenaries, caravan guards, adventurers, and even off-duty soldiers of Amn. Its proprietor, the retired war-priest Danvar Tormhill, ensures the store offers only functional, battlefield-tested gear—everything from basic longswords and tower shields to fine dwarven-forged axes and enchanted armor of moderate potency. Though Danvar steers clear of overt faction ties, the store’s reputation for neutrality and reliability has earned it quiet patronage from both Helmite watch officers and Radiant Heart squires alike. Custom orders are fulfilled through trusted local smiths, and magical wares are locked behind heavy vault doors accessible only to licensed buyers.

Appearance

The storefront is marked by a carved wooden sign displaying a crossed longsword and warhammer, battered but polished, suspended on iron chains. The building’s thick stone walls and barred windows give it the air of a fortress more than a shop. Inside, the space is orderly and sparse, with rows of weapon racks and mannequin-armored displays lining the walls. Lanterns in iron sconces cast a steady light on polished steel, while a faint scent of oiled leather and iron pervades the air. Danvar’s massive warhammer hangs on the wall behind the counter, beneath a faded tapestry depicting the siege of Murann.
