Although he appears tranquil, he stands ready to defend himself when needed. Coming from a lineage of whale hunters, Simon's aspirations were thwarted by the industry's decline. After his time in the US Navy and grappling with financial difficulties, he took on the role of cook for Dutch van der Linde's gang, where he now finds comfort in cooking and recalling his past maritime adventures.
