Rex Carbey's life as a fighter began during a series of brutal incursions by demonic entities that spilled into Aertos from a particularly volatile rift, events orchestrated by agents of the Infernal Syndicate. He witnessed firsthand the cruelty and destructive power of these beings, losing his family's ancestral home and many friends in the chaos. This personal tragedy fueled his dedication to honing his martial skills and his vow to protect his homeland from any further demonic influence. He joined a local defense force and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming known for his ferocity in battle. During one particularly devastating raid, a powerful demonic artifact, capable of corrupting local wildlife and twisting them into monstrous servants of the Syndicate, was brought into Aertos. Rex and his comrades were unable to prevent its establishment, and he has since been searching for a way to destroy it and sever the Demon Lord's insidious influence in his region.
