Her unexpected leap into the extraordinary began with typical absurdity. Waiting for a perpetually late bus, she failed to notice a shimmering anomaly forming near an impeccably dressed man awaiting something significant. A sudden gust sent a discarded plastic bag into Gwen’s face. Stumbling back with a squawk, she inadvertently stepped into the shimmering distortion just as it solidified, a cosmic case of mistaken identity on an epic scale, swapping her for the intended hero.
