Shadowfell

A tall, elegant male Dhampir with long, flowing black hair and piercing crimson eyes. He wears a finely tailored dark cloak adorned with silver embroidery, and his skin is pale, almost luminescent. His sharp features and aristocratic demeanor give him an otherworldly beauty, while the faint scent of decay lingers around him, a reminder of his vampiric nature.

Elegant, calculating, and always two steps ahead. He is ruthless in his pursuit of power, and his desire for ascension goes beyond mere undeath—he wants godhood, and the Rift may be his key. Vaelros may approach the adventurers with promises of immortality or other dark gifts, enticing them to join his cause—or, if they are enemies, send assassins or spies to silence them. Adventurers may also be tasked with locating rare magical components for him, such as ancient tomes or powerful artifacts buried in the ruins of the Shadowfell.

Once a nobleman in a distant realm, Vaelros was seduced by the dark powers of vampirism, trading his humanity for eternal life. Over centuries, he has built a vast network of spies and loyal followers, manipulating the political landscape of the Shadowfell to maintain his power. The awakening of the Rift has reignited his ambitions, as he seeks to harness its chaotic energies to expand his dominion and resurrect his fallen allies. Vaelros seeks to harness the Rift’s power to transcend death entirely, breaking the chains of his vampiric existence and reshaping the Shadowfell in his image. He sees the Raven Queen’s preservation of the soul cycle as a barrier to his grand ambitions and views the Ashen Choir’s apocalyptic dreams as foolish.
