A tall, thin woman draped in tattered, moss-covered robes, with ash-colored skin and glowing blood-red eyes. Her hair flows like mist, and her presence is accompanied by a chilling breeze that carries the scent of decay and damp earth.

Thalyska is an enigma—her past is lost to the swamp’s haze, but she has deep insight into the forces that move within the Shadowfell. She speaks in riddles and poetic verse, with her answers often leading to more questions than answers. Her voice can be calming, but her presence is always unsettling. She is a creature of melancholy and deep sorrow, as she knows the fate of the Shadowfell but cannot change it. She often offers her guidance with a heavy price, knowing the consequences of meddling with fate. Thalyska could offer prophecies or foretell the adventurers’ futures, but only if they are willing to make a pact with her. This might involve retrieving a lost relic from the Mire’s heart, purging a powerful evil that resides within the swamp, or helping her access the true depths of the Mire’s magic. She may also send the players on a quest to understand a dark secret tied to the Rift and its relationship to the Shadowfell’s looming end.

Once a mortal woman who fell victim to the dark magic of the Ebon Mire, Thalyska was transformed into a banshee, her spirit bound to the swamp. Over time, she transcended the typical bounds of undeath, becoming an oracle who possesses knowledge of the Shadowfell's secrets. She wanders the mire, offering cryptic prophecies to those brave enough to seek her out, forever haunted by the memories of her past life. Thalyska’s primary goal is to see the end of the cycle that plagues the Shadowfell. She believes that the Ebon Mire is the heart of the Shadowfell’s decay and that it is somehow tied to the Rift and the war. The Mire itself seems to pulse with dark energy, and Thalyska believes that its corrupt waters are a reflection of the corruption growing within the Shadowfell’s very soul. She is uncertain whether the world should be destroyed to cleanse the corruption or whether it must be saved—an internal struggle that weighs heavily on her.
