Description

The Triad Expanse is a formidable mountain range north of Solaria, characterized by three prominent, interconnected peaks that give the region its name. These towering mountains feature rugged slopes, deep valleys carved by ancient glaciers and rushing rivers, and high-altitude plateaus. The climate here is significantly cooler and more varied than the desert to the south, with potential for snow-capped summits, alpine forests, and windswept passes. The region is likely rich in natural resources, including minerals and timber, and the challenging terrain would make it a natural home for hardy races like goliaths, who might live in nomadic herds or establish strongholds in defensible locations. Adventurers might find opportunities in exploring hidden caves, ancient trails, and the territories of the various inhabitants.

Appearance

A majestic contrast to the sandy plains of Solaria. Jagged peaks rise towards the sky ranging from grey and brown rock to patches of green where vegetation clings to the slopes, and white at the highest elevations. Deep shadows carve lines across the mountainsides. The main peaks are a distinctive landmark. Depending on the season, waterfalls might cascade down cliffs, and the higher elevations could be shrouded in mist or capped with snow, creating a visually diverse and imposing landscape.
