Occasionally, workers from other sectors are assigned here on rotation for maintenance, processing oversight, or containment response. Most try to avoid the assignment—those who return are quiet, their eyes dulled. The air inside is thick with sterilization chemicals and the low, mechanical moan of conveyor systems ferrying sealed pods. Protective suits are mandatory. So is silence.
