backstory
Kaelen Drevic didn’t grow up with legacy, he grew up in the Barrows as the son of a broken-armed porter and a weaver who made thread from beetle gut. When a tunnel quake crushed half a crew and left Kaelen pulling wounded delvers from the rubble with his bare hands, the Cudgel took notice. He didn’t hesitate when recruitment came, joining the ranks with an eagerness that surprised even the veterans. But it was the Dome that shaped him. During his early delves, he spent more nights at the Dome than in the barracks, helping care for others between rotations, learning which wounds can be fought through and which ones silence even the strongest. Captain Orin Vellak became a quiet mentor to him, and the Dome a second home. Kaelen still trains harder than anyone else—but it’s not glory he’s chasing. He wants to be the kind of fighter who brings people back from the tunnels, not just into them.
