Description
Gutgrinders are massive burrow-roaches that digest petrified marrow and excrete it as fertile nutrient slurry. Highly territorial, they defend their egg-mounds with rhythmic screeches and bursts of chemical bile. Their underbellies are reinforced with chitinous grinding plates, allowing them to tunnel and shred obstacles alike. They are solitary scavengers by instinct, but when egg-pools are threatened, they swarm with brutal efficiency.
