Description
Blistercarapace Beetles are fist-sized insects that secrete volatile blister-oil from their dorsal sacs, using it to burn through tunnel obstructions and predators alike. Grown adults reach the size of large dogs, and their resin-hardened shells erupt in blistering bursts when damaged. They operate in skittering units, communicating through body vibrations. Alchemists prize their oil for industrial reactions—but harvesting is dangerous, as the beetle reflexively detonates if cornered.
