Rathyn grew up in the dense woods around Eveningstar, raised by a faltering community of ex-hunters, herbalists, and monster wardens. When strange shadows began creeping into the King’s Forest, people started vanishing—first travelers, then villagers. Rathyn tracked the creatures to a forgotten ruin, where he fought and survived his first night in the Underdark. Since then, he's become a solitary guardian of Eveningstar's borders, often mistaken for a myth. Few in the village have seen him clearly, but every child knows his stories. When nobles seek to exploit the forest or “cleanse” the region of its darker corners, Rathyn is there—bow drawn, silent, and unyielding. He’s both feared and revered by the locals, and some wonder if he's entirely mortal anymore.
