Mount Katsuragi is a remote and sacred mountain known for harboring the forbidden kinjutsu of the Tsuchigumo clan. Surrounded by a powerful barrier and laced with deadly traps, the mountain is fiercely protected to ensure that the kinjutsu does not fall into the wrong hands. Its slopes are rugged and densely forested, shrouded in mist and mystery. Once the site of a great ideological rift within the Tsuchigumo clan, Mount Katsuragi became the sanctuary of those loyal to the original ideals of the clan’s founder, En no Gyōja. While the elders and majority of the clan remained in the lowland village, a small group of followers retreated to the mountain to safeguard the kinjutsu. Over the years, their numbers diminished, leaving behind only a few dedicated guardians who continue to protect its secrets in solitude.
