The Shinobi World

Hidden Villages, known as "Gakure", are the central military and political powers of each shinobi nation, functioning as both fortified cities and headquarters for trained ninja forces. Each village is led by a Kage—such as the Hokage of Konohagakure or the Raikage of Kumogakure—who serves as both the leader of the village and its strongest protector. These villages operate like organized militarized societies, housing academies for training young shinobi, administrative divisions for missions and intelligence, and specialized units such as ANBU or sensory corps. Hidden Villages compete, ally, and clash with one another in times of peace and war, with each one developing its own culture, fighting styles, and bloodlines. While many villages are part of major nations, smaller or rogue villages exist outside the five great powers, often operating in secrecy or conflict. Hidden Villages are the beating hearts of the shinobi world—centers of tradition, strength, and political intrigue.
