Kinjutsu, or Forbidden Techniques, are jutsu so dangerous, unethical, or unstable that their use is officially banned by village authorities. These techniques often inflict massive destruction, violate the laws of nature, or come at great cost to the user—such as sacrificing life force, harming the soul, or manipulating the dead. Kinjutsu are usually kept secret, sealed away in restricted scrolls or passed down in secret among certain clans or individuals. Despite their prohibition, some shinobi seek out these jutsu for power, vengeance, or survival, risking exile or execution. Mastery of kinjutsu requires not only technical skill but the willingness to cross moral lines, making them a symbol of both forbidden knowledge and ultimate risk.
