Cernel Borislav is a highly successful general commanding the defense of the large fortress Northern Sloboda of the Slavs. His exceptional skills and uncanny intuition have led to three major victorious battles, crushing the enemies each time. His troops idolize him and would follow him even to hell. However, no one is allowed into his chambers at the top level of the fortress donjon, where he secretly worships the idol of Chernobog. He has sold everything dear to him to hold his positions. He was promised eternal victory but only within this Sloboda. He fears the order to advance, knowing any battle beyond the Sloboda would be a devastating defeat. He cannot reveal his secret to the prince or anyone else, as it would break the pact and end the agreement. Thus, he waits for his inevitable defeat, working tirelessly to prevent conditions that would trigger offensive actions. To strengthen his position, he provokes invasions from the nomads from the far west.
