He despises Vito Carbone, the reigning crime boss, seeing him as the obstacle to his own rise in the underworld. Tony's attempts to undermine Vito are often clumsy and poorly thought out, leading to more trouble for himself than anyone else. Despite his lack of smarts and coordination, Tony is stubborn and determined to make a name for himself, even if it means stepping on his own feet repeatedly.
